Why are we doing what we are doing?

The South West has been crying out for a decent teacher-practitioner driven teaching and learning conference for a long time and so the ‘Moving on Education’ idea was born.

Who are we?

Envisioned by Gary King and Mark Anderson, the event seeks to provide effective professional development ideas from innovative education professionals who have practical experience.

Who can we learn from?

To date we have secured a number of speakers to run sessions and keynotes at the event. If you are interested in attending and speaking too, then please visit the ‘I’ll speak’ page and submit your proposal.

Who is it for?

This event is for all teachers from EYFS to FE. We will have speakers from across the age ranges and provide opportunities for learning that will be of interest to NQTs to more seasoned teachers and those in middle or senior leadership positions. The aim is for you to leave the day inspired from a day of positivity, learning and sharing.

Why are we asking for money?

In order to make events such as these viable there will clearly be a number of costs involved. Some of those funds will come from sponsorship as you will see from the forthcoming documentation, advertising materials and stands that will be present on the day. Those funds however are not enough to cover the costs of the day.

What will happen to that money?

Moving on Education is a “not for profit” event which means that we are not running this to make money. Any residual funds left over from this initial event will go to local charities.
